OCR: The Daoine Sidhe, pronounced 'theena shee,' are also referred to in this sequence of novels as the Fey. We learn other names for them as the novel progresses. Sidhe were the legendary faerie people of Ireland, a dying race of dwindled gods, not to be confused with the more widely known Leprechauns. Like all faeries, they believed that knowledge of an individual's true name gave power to its user. Only when a faerie's real name was invoked could a man be sure that he was being told the truth. Reference works that were of particular help when researching faerie lore include the following. A Dictionary Of Fairies Katharine Briggs A Field Guide To The Little People Nancy Arrowsmith & George Moorse A Guide To Occult Britain John Wilcock Exit
